GRASSA UNLOCKS THE FULL POTENTIAL OF GRASS
With a natural process of pressing, heating and filtering, the grass is divided into four products. The sum of its parts has a higher value than the grass as a whole. Not only in euros but also on sustainability. Grass is processed into opened grass, a high-quality sustainable roughage for cows, with which up to 60% the grass roughage can be replaced. Production levels are maintained or improved, while nitrogen and phosphate emissions are reduced by 30% and methane emissions are reduced by 10-15%. In addition, proteins are obtained that are suitable for consumption by pigs, chickens, dogs and… humans. This protein has a better amino acid profile than soy and is therefore an excellent alternative to the much-debated imports of soy. There is sufficient grass in the Netherlands to meet the entire Dutch soy demand.
Several challenges in the agricultural sector are largely solved by the Grassa Circularity Concept. There will be large reduction in CO2 footprint and a boost to circularity in agriculture. All this without costing the taxpayer money and while generating more money for the dairy farmer.
