Water & Waste Tech 4 Food Pavilion

VIV Europe is a premier event in the industry. With 20,212 visitors from 136 countries and almost 600 exhibiting companies it brings professionals active in the production of pig, poultry, eggs, fish and dairy together in Utrecht, at the World Expo from Feed to Food.

VIV EUROPE 2018 from June 20 - 22, 2018. At the Jaarbeurs | Utrecht, The Netherlands www.viv.net

Water usage in the Feed to Food supply chain is tremendous. Livestock production alone accounts for one-third of the world’s fresh water usage. To address these water and waste usages within the Feed to Food Industry, VIV Europe will host the Water & Waste Tech 4 Food Pavilion & Forum Series at the Global VIV shows, starting in Utrecht at VIV Europe 2018 (June 20-22, 2018). This will be a three-day event which will provide direct access to business executives and stakeholders across the overall industry where water and its usage has become a highly regulated resource. This initiative will provide a forum to discuss and showcase the urgent challenges and needs from the end user’s perspective and provide a first-hand view to the standardized and cutting edge technical solutions available globally that can dramatically reduce water consumption and meet the current and pending regulations.

Facts & Figures Water & Waste use in the Feed to Food industry:

  • Livestock production which includes meat, milk and eggs, provides income for more than 1.3 billion people and uses one-third of the world’s fresh water.
  • It is expected that by 2020, the water treatment investment in the food industry will increase by 150%.  Meat production requires gigantic amounts of water. In total, meat production demands more than 2,000 trillion tons of water every year (that's 63 million liters a second!). In less than 40 hours that’s enough to provide drinking water for everyone on earth for a year.
  • The ground water level is falling dramatically in China, India and the USA. This is serious - especially as these 3 countries currently produce half of the world’s food.
  • Worldwide, cattle and other livestock animals generate an estimated 13 billion tons of waste every year. This is the weight of the Eiffel tower every 24 seconds. The problem of what to do with this waste is increasing.

This call is to companies who provide Waste and Water Treatment (Process Water Treatment, Fluid Transport, Water Recycling or Reclamation Systems), Analytical Water Quality, Data Acquisition, Heat or any other relevant water or waste technologies and solutions for the Feed to Food Industry.
