There is a high awareness on egg quality in our industry based on receiving a number
of responses that were on target. The first of the real-life problem situations dealt with fecal staining of shells from a whitefeathered flock housed in an old facility. This defect is usually due to soiling of eggs hanging back in cages with sagging floors or alternatively contamination on dirty belts.

The special theme of Eggs! will come to VIV Europe this year. The eggs initiative was successfully hatched at VIV Asia last year and comes home to roost at Jaarbeurs Utrecht, The Netherlands from April 20-22. Jaarbeurs’ Hall 7 will play host to the Eggs! Pavilion, the centre of focus for all things egg-related at the show.

At VIV-Europe 2010 Moba will introduce a complete series of robot applications for the egg industry. Moba is already many years successful in creating equipment for handling eggs in a packed form (either in trays or consumer packs). In this program, called “Autopack”, many units such as tray- and case palletisers, case packers and display loaders were developed. Many of these units were successfully implemented in farms and packing stations around the world.

Specht Ten Elsen has been a pioneer in the field of development of the cage equipment for the artificial insemination. With greater success they are still working without any problems.
