One of the new innovative solutions presented at VIV Europe will be the Ovotrack ECI, which is a solution for automatic batch change on the loaders of egg grading and breaking machines With the introduction of the Eggs Cargo Concept, (plastic trays and pallets) automatic loading of grading and breaking machines with depalletizing systems is getting very popular. However with automatic loading no operator is available for activating a batch change when a new batch of eggs is graded or processed. This problem is solved with the Eggs Cargo Identifier (ECI).

The ECI is a plastic tag that can be clicked on the top corner of a pallet. The ECI has a barcode that is scanned when a pallet is loaded into the depalletizing system. This barcode is scanned again with a fixed scanner that is mounted on the loader of the grader. At that moment the supplier shift / batch change is activated on the loader. Because of its shape the ECI will activate the dirty tray detection system on the grading machine so that it can be removed easily and then reused again.

The Ovotrack ECI can be used stand-alone or integrated with other parts of Ovotrack software to get full traceability, stock control or integrated labeling of eggs.
