ORION-DF Multi phase dry feed controller
Hotraco Agri introduces the ORION-DF multi phase dry feed controller for pig feeding. The system is based on the existing ORION hardware with the well known picture control. The software for the ORION and PC has been developed in co-operation with several end users. The PC software is integrated in the Rainbow+ package. Managing Director Chris Beelen explains the many advantages of the new dry feed controller: “The ORION-DF can control up to 30 silos, of which 26 feed silos and 4 micro dosage silos. It controls 512 different feed valves and 16 feed circuits simultaneously. In addition, the system make a feed mixture up to 20 feeding tables and 10 biorhythm tables.” If required, the control can be extended by simply adding IO boards to the CAN-BUS system. “You can easily make settings in the ORION-DF software to determine which alarms should be announced softly and which ones loudly. In this way you can make a good indication of the priority of different alarm settings,” elaborates Chris Beelen.
New hardware and software versions
The ORION processor board has been updated. “It is not only faster, but this board will also have its own IP-address. It can be connected directly to the internet, so you can access the ORION from every location. This is an important added value,” says Beelen. The board now also has an SD-card lock for backup of data and settings. “We have updated the software with several new options. Broilers, breeders, layers in cages and alternative systems: for all kinds of operations the ORION offers the right set ups.”
New casings
Hotraco Agri will present the new line of casings for the controllers. “We have updated them that now all new casings meet the needs of our customers,” according to Chris Beelen. All circuit boards will remain universal and can be exchanged between old and new controllers. They meet any strict fire safety regulations, as they are made of inflammable plastic.
IRIS-A alarm computer
The IRIS-A was launched at the end of 2009. “The IRIS-A is an alarm computer that carefully controls the temperature in a house independently to the climate computer. It is in fact an improved version of the double thermostat with minimum and maximum alarm settings. You can easily adapt the alarm settings to the age of the animals.” If an outside temperature sensor is connected, it is possible to work with outside temperature compensation in case the outside temperature exceeds the set temperature.
